Evita’s Dress Unveiled

Evita’s Dress Unveiled

Ahead of Willoughby Theatre Company's production of Evita, leading lady Virginia Natoli unveiled Eva Peron’s dress, to be worn as she sings ‘Don’t Cry for Me Argentina’ on the balcony of the Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires, on the steps of the Concourse in Chatswood.

On May 22nd 2015 the legendary story of Eva Perón bursts back onto the stage when Willoughby Theatre Company stages the first production in Sydney in almost 20 years of the Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical Evita.

Eva Perón used her beauty and charisma to rise meteorically from the slums of Argentina to the presidential mansion as First Lady. Adored by her people as a champion for the poor, she became one of the most powerful women in the world — while her greed, outsized ambition and fragile health made her one of the most tragic.

The score of Evita features "Don't Cry for Me Argentina", "Another Suitcase in Another Hall", "High Flying, Adored", and the Academy Award™ Winning song "You Must Love Me", written for the 1996 film version of the show.
