Four Flat Whites in Italy at Cronulla

Audiences at Arts Theatre Cronulla are being transported to Italy throughout November 2018 as they witness the long-planned dream holiday of recently retired librarians Alison (Christine Morel) and Adrian (David Hines) in Four Flat Whites in Italy

by Roger Hall. Following an accident that sees their best friends withdraw from the trip, the retirees are fraught with worry until wealthy new neighbours Judy (Meili Bookluck) and husband Harry (Kevin Brest) readily volunteer to be replacements.

The society’s cabaret format has proved successful in the last four years, covering a variety of genres and periods.

Bittersweet Christmas Comedy at Rockdale

Most Christmas stories are about good cheer and celebration but we all know there is often another side – isolation, depression and despair. Silent Night, Lonely Night by Robert Anderson is a bittersweet comedy of longing and love.

At a rural inn on Christmas Eve Katherine meets John.  Both are estranged from their spouses while circumstances bring them to this isolated place on what they agree is the loneliest night of the year. They both need love.

Musical Christmas Comes Early at Sutherland

Shire Music Theatre presents the musical version of Miracle on 34th Street, based on the movie of the same name, at the Sutherland School Of Arts during October 2018. The musical, originally performed on Broadway as Here’s Love, features a book and score by Meredith Willson, best known for The Music Man.

Contemporary Romeo and Juliet at Limelight.

TWO star-crossed lovers come together despite constant opposition from their warring families in Limelight Theatre’s September / October 2018 production, described as “the greatest love story ever told”.

Directed by Peter Clark, Romeo and Juliet was first performed 424 years ago and is one of the most popular Shakespeare plays performed today – but it’s the first time Shakespeare has been performed at Limelight Theatre (WA) in its 45-year history.

Realism at Hartwell

Mel Brooks’ The Producers at Miranda

Surely one of the more outrageous comic geniuses, Mel Brooks proves just how zany he can really be with his hit musical version of the movie The Producers. Who would have thought that a musical with the song “Springtime for Hitler would” prove to be a Broadway classic?

Based on the 1968 film, Mel Brooks’ musical is an outrageous, crowd-pleasing farce that has been a hit since its 2001 Broadway debut.
