Christmas Comes Early at Hunters Hill

Christmas Comes Early at Hunters Hill

Hunters Hill Theatre (HHT) are continuing their 2018 season with an Alan Ayckbourn classic, Seasons Greetings.

It’s Christmas-time and married couple Neville (John Cross) and Belinda (Claudia Bedford) have invited amixed bag of friends and family to stay with them over the holiday. What could possibly go wrong?

The group includes: Belinda’s irascible Uncle Harvey (Martin Maling), her unfulfilled sister Rachel(Elizabeth Lynch) who has herself invited young attractive writer Clive (Michael Arvithis), Neville’s chaoticsister Phyllis (Susan Mozell) and her ineffectual husband Bernard (Gerard Hawkins), Neville’s lacklustrework friend Eddie (David Hummerston) and his pregnant frazzled wife Pattie (Prudence Foxe).

Hilarity unfolds as the characters try to keep it together and make it to Boxing Day without destroying toomany presents, or relationships. Highlights of the play include an infamous puppet show, amoonlit tryst under the Christmas tree and a deadly case of mistaken identity.

Author Alan Ayckbourn views Christmas-time as a gift to the comic dramatist, as “you’re always looking fora reason to stick a group of people together who can't stand each other, aren't you? Dinner parties aregood, but what better time than Christmas?”

Seasons Greetings is playing from 8 - 17 June at Hunters Hill Town Hall, 22 Alexandra Street, HuntersHill. Bookings can be made online at www.huntershilltheatre.com.au, or by phoning the box office on (02)9879 7765.
