After Dinner Serves Up Belly Laughs with a Side of Loneliness

After Dinner, produced by Wyndham Theatre Company, follows a hilariously disappointing Friday night out at the pub. 

Paula, Monika and Dympie just wanna have a good night at the pub. So do Stephan and Gordon. But the band isn't playing, the waiters are ignoring them, and no-one can keep their issues to themselves. On the surface, a comedy of characters, but underneath the farce lies the loneliness and intimacy that strike to the heart of any human just looking for connection.

Andrew Bovell, stalwart of Australian theatre, wrote this lesser-known gem in 1987 as one of his first feature length plays. The costumes and dance floor will take you back a few decades but the heart of the story remains as relevant today as it did back then.

This theatrical feast is produced by Wyndham Theatre Company who have been entertaining the West since 1968. After Dinner offers a cast, director and crew mainly from Melbourne's West.
