David Williamson’s Face to Face will be staged by young, emerging director Brendan Ellis for Stirling Players (WA) in May 2012.

As the first part of Williamson’s Jack Manning Trilogy, this dramatic and character-driven play takes its format in a realistic setting of ‘community conferencing.’

When young construction worker Glen rams into the back of his boss’s Mercedes in a fit of anger at being sacked, he is given the opportunity to discuss his actions in a community conference, rather than going straight to court.

MATES Theatre Society (Redlands, Qld) present the classic Australian comedy Cosi at Birkdale School of Arts Hall from April 13 – May 5.

Written by Louis Nowra, Cosi explores the complex and sensitive subject of mental health. It tells the story of Lewis (played by Conor Ensor), a young amateur theatre director who is offered a job with a Government program in a Sydney institution for the mentally ill.

Xanadu Audience Member to Win Skates Autographed by Olivia

Miss Saigon for Chatswood in May

Chatswood Musical Society (NSW) presents Miss Saigon as the company’s first production at The Concourse in Chatswood from May 4.

Set in 1975 during the final days of the American occupation of Vietnam and inspired by Puccini’s Madame Butterfly, Miss Saigon is an epic love story between a young Vietnamese girl and an American GI who are torn apart by war but connect for a brief moment that changes their lives forever.

SIMON GALLAHER TO STAR IN HARVEST RAIN’S PRODUCTION OF HAIRSPRAY

Harvest Rain (Brisbane) has announced the cast for their upcoming pro-am production of Hairspray, which will open at the Playhouse, QPAC from June 22 to July 1, 2012.

Simon Gallaher will don a dress to play Edna Turnblad, the part made famous by John Travolta in the 2007 film.

Casey McCollow (pictured) will play Tracy Turnblad, the pleasantly plump teenager who dreams of dancing on the Corny Collins show. Casey has previously appeared in Harvest Rain's productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, The Wizard of Oz and Sweet Charity
